Diabetes Mentor helps you keep track of your BGs, insulin dosages, oral medications, calories, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, exercise, and weight by reading data from blood glucose meters. The latest version has an added interface for LifeScan FastTake, Accu-Check Advantage, and Accu-Check Complete meters. Other new features include the ability to handle up to 26 different insulin types, copy graphs to clipboard and export data as a tabbed text file, browser-based online help, and auto-save in case of a computer crash. A trial version is free; the full version costs $54.95.
Frank Reiff has updated MacBreakZ!3.01, an application that helps remind regular computer users that it's time to take a break. Based on your activity levels, the software suggests breaks at regular intervals and offers stretching exercises, pictures demonstrating the stretches, and additional information about how to be ergonomically correct. The idea is to prevent (or help recover from) repetitive-stress injuries and focus on problems that come with too much computer work. MacBreakZ! is $24.95 new, or $9.95 for an upgrade from a previous version. The latest version fixes a rainbow color effect with Mac OS 10.1.
